Baking Day!

Today I did a little bit of baking. I tried out two recipes:
1) Cranberry Zucchini Bread: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cranberry-Zucchini-Bread/Detail.aspx
2) Scones: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Grandma-Johnsons-Scones/Detail.aspx

The zucchini bread was alright. Not the best I've ever had but I had some cranberries I wanted to use up and for some dumb reason I thought that was a better idea than putting them in the scones. Don't ask me. My logic button doesn't always work. I'm not saying it was bad or anything, I think I just prefer regular zucchini bread.

The scones were alright. They needed to be baked another 2-3 minutes to get a little crunch to them. I baked them for 20-25 minutes and the recipe called for 12-14 minutes so that forced me to wing it and I'm not always so great at winging things in the kitchen. I need 1-2-3 step directions, including bake times.

For the scones I added a tsp almond extract & a tsp dried orange peel. Totally should have put the cranberries in there.

The zucchini bread makes for a nice christmas presentation with the red and green coloring
