Sadie & Violet Happenings

In short, not a whole lot is going on in the world of the pups. Lots of eating, sleeping, playing, rough housing... in other words, just living a nice normal life. Since Sadie's "great adventure" with the rib bone my goal has been to NOT go to the vet any time soon. Like, maybe next year when it is time for their physicals.

So here they are enjoying the sunshine.

Violet is so delicate about her water adventures compared to Sadie

Forget what I said about delicate.

I really love this picture of Violet. She is in really great physical condition. She was slow to fill out but she has really filled out. In other words, she isn't a lanky teenager anymore.

Sadie is in fantastic condition, too. She has gained back all the weight she lost after surgery and she is 100% back to her old self. You have to really look for the scar on her abdomen. I can feel the sutures beneath her skin though. Crazy dog.

Oh girls. You are so cute.

Amber Comes For A Visit

Life gets crazy and all it takes is a couple blinks of an eye before you realize a year has passed since you've seen your friend in person. Amber has two babes, one of which is very young and I learned today he is very grumpy when taken out of the house. Talk about a boy who doesn't like change.

Amber and her two kids came by and it was a little chaotic. Two crying human babies and two canine babies getting upset at the crying human babies, wanting to lick their faces, which in turn makes the human babies cry harder.... lather, rinse, repeat.

After eating we went outside in the yard and that's when we were finally able to talk about life while Audrey, the oldest of the two kids, threw the ball for Sadie while Violet snuggled her bunny.

Oh, and by the way, we got a bunny.

This is what Brandon looked like 85% of the time. He was somewhat amused by puppies but that lasted for maybe 5 minutes, tops.

New Rain Chain

While I loved the rain chain we had up previously, the style we chose let to a lot of splash onto the wooden deck. So I opted to try out another style of rain chain to see if it would tidy up the mess. This is a cup style rain chain and it works great. Minimal splash and I love the color. I've already sold the original rain chain so no harm no foul.

Acer palmatum 'Aoba Jo' Japanese Maple

I bought this cute little tree back in 2010 and it was a mere 12" tall. The website claimed that this particular maple only got 3' tall and wide but I have had this tree for two years now and it has already  hit it's max size. I have a feeling it will outgrow its stated size, but that is okay with me. We'll see where it maxes out at.
